Parent Synchrony Project

The parent synchrony project, led by Dr. Isabella Schneider (Psychiatric Clinic) and Prof. Sabina Pauen (Psychological Institute), started in November in the interaction lab. This is a study of the Clinic for General Psychiatry and the Psychological Institute of the University of Heidelberg. It examines parenting couples during communication about parenting issues by measuring their brain activity using EEG and simultaneously recording affect-associated peripheral physiological parameters. This method, called hyperscanning allows the investigation of interpersonal neuronal synchronisation processes.
