The CNSR has received 16 second-generation Bi-Vital physiological monitors. These portable ECG devices were developed by CITEC at the University of Bielefeld. The CNSR participated in this development as an application consultant. The Bi-Vital monitors enable long-term measurements over several hours for laboratory or real-world studies. The ECG is analyzed in real time on an integrated machine learning (ML) system, which calculates the heart rate, the R-R interval, and the ECG quality. In addition, the Bi-Vital is equipped with motion (IMU), temperature, humidity, and sound sensors. Data acquisition is controlled via an Android or iOS app using Bluetooth.
